Having fun with Wii!
I purchased a Wii system for my family this Christmas!
We are having soooo much fun with it. For those of you wondering how I managed to get one - they were apparently VERY hard to come by this holiday season - I bought it back in October. Even then they were hard to find and I had a feeling it was going to get worse.
If you aren't familiar with the Wii, it's a video game system that requires movement.
For the sports games that come with the Wii (bowling, baseball, tennis, boxing, and golf) the wii remote acts as a baseball bat, tennis racket, or boxing gloves (there is a separate type of remote called a nunchuk that attaches to the main remote to be a second boxing glove). With bowling you have to be holding the remote and throw your arm back and then forward as if you were throwing a bowling ball.
We had a blast with it yesterday, all of us together, and the kids and their friends have taken over it today.
My husband and I noticed our muscles were sore today from it - for some of the games, especially boxing, you get a real workout.
If you or your kids love video games, this system actually involves exercise, so I feel better about my kids playing it. It's also just a lot of fun.
